Cause: built in 1909 by irvine's sb co ltd, west hartlepool. owned at time of loss by brookhill collieries ltd. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 170 nhp, single shaft. machinery by richardsons, westgarth & co, hartlepool. passage penarth for sheerness. attacked by gunfire by uc-61. 2 crew were killed before surrendering. later scuttled by charges placed by the u-boat boarding party. (sibi).

HULL HAS INTACT CROSS-MEMBERS BUT NO DECKING. (N CHIPCHASE, 20.9.93). HH100/351/09 29.6.95 HULL MEASURED AT 240FT, BEAM AT 36FT, HOLES IN HULL CONSISTENT WITH BEING SUNK BY SCUTTLING CHARGES. LIES INTACT, ON ITS SIDE WITH STERN POINTING SOUTH. PROPELLER BLADES ARE MISSING. (N CHIPCHASE).
