Cause: 18.10.17 built in 1885 by s & h morton & co. owned at the time of loss by leith hull & hamburg steam packet co. compound engine of 122nhp for 8.5 knots. passage middlesbrough for st malo. cargo pig iron. had landed pilot off deal on 18.10.17. torpedoed and sunk by uc-75. 22 men lost. (dods & british merchant ships sunk by u-boats, 1914-18).
