Cause: built in 1930 by ardrossan dockyard ltd, ardrossan. owned at time of loss by nisbet shipping co ltd, glasgow. four boilers, triple expansion engine of 257nhp, single shaft. passage mellili, italy for workington. badly damaged in collision with hmcs orkney whilst in convoy. later beached. salvage considered impossible, & vessel written off.

DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE GOING DOWN AMIDSHIPS. VISITED MAY'46, VESSEL HAS SETTLED FURTHER AT THE ENDS AND SEA DAMAGE AMIDSHIPS CONSIDERABLY MORE EXTENSIVE PARTICULARLY IN WAY OF ENGINE ROOM.
