Cause: built in 1863 by w pile & co, sunderland. passage borga for seville. went ashore in fog then later struck a rock mid way between the centre of charlton bay & culverhole pt. broke in two, the cargo floated away covering local beaches for miles. (sibi).

HULL REDUCED BY WAVE ACTION TO KEEL & ONE SECTION OF RIB 12-15FT ABOVE SEABED, BUT ONLY 100YDS OFFSHORE AT LW, ONLY INCHES BELOW WATER LEVEL. (J. MOORE, NERC). POSN FOR FILING ONLY. 24.6.85 THE STERN STILL VISIBLE WITH SMALL PROPSHAFT, APPROPRIATE TO A SAILING BARQUE. (J. GIBBS, LOCATED 23.6.85).
