REPD TO BE THAT OF THE 'BAYCHATTAN' & IS SITTING UPRIGHT IN 200FT OF WATER & IT IS ABOUT 150FT TO THE TOP OF THE DECK. AN UNCONFIRMED REPORT STATES THAT THE STERN IS MISSING. (G B THOMAS, BRISTOL SAC & WAR RISK OFFICE, TELECON 24.11.70). H2396/77 11.3.77 H2396/77 11.3.77 WK IN 501122N, 034206W USING DECCA. ABOUT 345FT LONG BY SONAR. LYING ABOUT WSW/ESE, BOWS ESE. NEARLY UPRIGHT. CLEARANCE BY E/S 126FT. REDUCED RISE ABOUT 45FT. SEABED GEN DEPTH 175FT. LITTLE SCOURING. THIS WAS THE OBJECT OF ONE SHORT EXPLORATORY DIVE. THE BOWS ARE BLUFF WITH A STRAIGHT STEM POST. THE FORE END IS NOT UNLIKE THE 'DROXFORD'. SOLID BULWARKS NOT GUARDRAILS. IN THIS AREA TIDAL STREAMS TURN SHARPLY & IF NOT EARLY, VERY PROMPTLY.
