Cause: Built in 1902 by w dobson & co, newcastle-upon-tyne. owned at time of loss by the gas light & coke co. single boiler, triple expansion engine of 112hp, single shaft. machinery by ne marine engine co, newcastle-upon-tyne. passage newcastle-upon-tyne for london. cargo coal. foundered after collision with the newcastle registered ss walton. one man lost.

HIGH POINT, POSSIBLY A MAST, AMIDSHIPS. (LAND & MARINE, HI 414B). AMEND TO WK 45MTRS. BR STD. HH100/351/17 27.4.01 DIVED IN 1999. POSITIVELY IDENTIFED AS BATTERSEA BY THE BELL. UPRIGHT AND ON AN EVEN KEEL. INTACT FROM STERN TO MIDSHIPS. FROM BRIDGE FWD TO THE BOW THE WK IS COLLAPSED. SINGLE BOILER AND ENGINE.
