Cause: built in 1853 by w denny & bros, dumbarton. compound expansion engine of 139nhp, single shaft. passage liverpool for le havre. struck a rock in thick fog and ran aground at nanjizel cove, lands end. no lives lost. (sibi).

HH091/246/01 30.4.09 HH091/246/01 & SEP 2009/000041156 30.4.09 EXAM'D 7.08 IN 5003.247N, 0541.999W [WGD] USING DGPS. LEAST M/B DEPTH 1.31 IN GEN DEPTH 3.01MTRS. SCOUR 0.3MTR DEEP. MAIN ITEM (BOILER) LENGTH 19.1MTRS, WIDTH 3.8MTRS, HT 2.1MTRS. LIES 043/233 DEGS. MAINLY BURIED WITH ONLY THE PROMINENT BOILER AND THE TOP OF THE ENGINE ABOVE SEABED. QUOTED POSN IS THE TOP OF THE BOILER AND IS THE LEAST DEPTH. (NETSURVEY, HI 1246). INS AS WK 1.3MTRS. BR STD.
