Cause: built in 1884 by edwards & sons, newcasle-upon-tyne. owned at time of loss by g w ward, newcastle-upon-tyne. one boiler, compound expansion engine of 150 nhp, single shaft. passage fiume for glasgow. ran aground. slipped off & sank later in deep water off w side of ailsa craig. (sibi & p j moir).
