Cause: 4.2.1918 built in 1917 by swan, hunter & wigham, richardson of wallsend-on-tyne. owned at time of loss by cunard. four double ended boilers, steam turbines, twin shaft. passage liverpool for new york to return with american troops. torpedoed by ub 67 on 4.2.1918. was taken in tow by a trawler, but broke free in force 9 gale & was driven onto rocks at port-na-parstan.

LYING E/W AT RIGHT ANGLES TO CLIFF. COVERS AN AREA NOT LESS THAN 550FT BY 80FT. (J BROOKS, SUB-AQUA DIVER). 16.9.70 WK SOON TO BE SOLD FOR SALVAGE OF NON-FERROUS METALS TO A MR GREEVES. LARGE BOILERS LIE ON SEAWARD SIDE OF WRECKAGE IN 22MTRS NEAR SEVERAL LARGE WINCHES. BROKEN PLATES WITH CUNARD CREST FOUND. (A JENNIONS, 18.1.83). AMEND TO FA BETWEEN 563613N, 061920W & 563605N, 061925W. BR STD. 25.7.91 WK LIES 500MTRS S OF CALIACH PT, & 40MTRS OUT FROM CLIFF FACE, RUNNING N FROM A CONSPIC FLAT TOPPED ROCK OUTCROP. LIES N/S IN GEN DEPTH 15-20MTRS. WELL BROKEN UP, BUT WITH LARGE PIECES STILL STANDING 7MTRS HIGH.
