Cause: Ex-haardraade. built in 1903 by kon maats de schelde, flushing. owned at time of loss by the shipping controller. one boiler, triple expansion engine of 123hp, single shaft. passage rouen for the tyne. torpedoed by ub 80. was taken in tow by patrol vessel 'richard jewell' but foundered some 14 miles further on when bulkhead collapsed. two men lost.

TWO HOLDS FWD LAT TO THE SEABED. SINGLE BOILER, TWO FURNACES. ENGINE PROBABLY TRIPLE COMPOUND, FALLEN OVER TO STBD. BOWS OVER TO PORT AT 45 DEGS, BIG TRAWL NET COILED UPWARDS. (A C JACKSON/C A RACEY). HH100/351/10 24.11.95 DIVED AGAIN IN 9.95. BELL FOUND ON THE SEABED AT THE PORT SIDE OF BOW. BEARS PREVIOUS NAME 'HAADRAADE'. APPEARS TO BE IN BALLAST. (A C JACKSON & C A RACEY). SEP 2017/000002822 2.5.17 EXAM'D 16.12.16; IN 5436.538N, 0041.426W [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH 41.5MTRS IN GEN DEPTH 47MTRS, LENGTH 70MTRS, WIDTH 11.5MTRS, HEIGHT 5.56MTRS, ORIENTATION 085/265 DEGS. WRECK IS SEVERELY DISINTEGRATED. (MMT, HI 1491).
