Cause: built of iron in 1883 by s p austin & son, of sunderland. owned at time of loss by the auckland castle co ltd. one boiler, compound expansion engine of 99hp, single shaft. machinery by g clarke of sunderland. passage hartlepool for moss, norway. cargo 1133 tons coal. torpedoed by uc 59. hit by two torpedoes and sank almost immediately. of crew of 18, 12 lost.
