Cause: built in 1936 by goole sb co ltd, goole. owned at time of loss by the royal navy, having been requsitioned from t e evans & co. 6 cylinder, two stroke oil engine, single shaft. passage from isle of wight assembly point for normandy landings. cargo cased petrol. torpedoed by e-boat, burst into flames and exploded. crew of 17 all lost. (ll ww2 & sibi).
