Cause: ex-barbel bolten '73, ex-theano '79, ex-ekenis. built in 1968 by schichting werft, travemunde, east germany. previously owned by e & e reederek 'ekenis'. 6 cylinder oil engine of 2500bhp, single shaft. passage garston for belfast. reported taking in water in no. 1 hold and that pumps were unable to cope. was abandoned by crew and sank. some containers carried hazardous waste. leak may have been caused when she hit lock wall on leaving garston. (sibi).
