Cause: built in 1905 by j blumer & co. owned at the time of loss by egypt & levant steamship co. two boilers, triple expansion engine of 287 nhp, single shaft. machinery by j dickinson & sons ltd, sunderland. passage barry for cherbourg. mined & sunk 7m off dartmouth. torpedoed by u-48. 12 men lost. (sibi).

EITHER 280 OR 360FT LONG, APPROX, BY SONAR, AND LYING E/W. FROM NORTH SONAR SHOWS WK APPARENTLY IN TWO PARTS. FROM SOUTH IT APPEARS SHORTER IN ONE PIECE AND COVERED IN FISHING NETS. NOT DIVED ON. (RISDON BEAZLEY, 10.2.77). NCA. H1309/79 16.10.80 H1309/79 16.10.80 DIVED ON IN VERY POOR VISIBILITY. LYING ON ITS SIDE AND BROKEN UP IN PARTS. APPARENTLY A MERCHANT SHIP AS WINCHES WERE SEEN.
