Cause: ex-rattray head '73. built 1965 by clelands shipbuilding co., ltd. wallsend-on-tyne with 9 cylinder oil engine, single shaft. owned at time of loss by stephenson clarke shipping ltd. on passage from gdansk for galway. ran aground on black rock shoal, galway bay. vessel was badly holed & abandoned as a total loss. (lloyds vol.219, msd & sii). 25.1.75 sank 25.1.75, 2m off black rock at end of salthill promanade. (shipwrecks of the irish coast, e j bourke)
