Cause: built in 1892 by laird brothers, birkenhead. owned at time of loss by british & n atlantic steam navigation co (dominion line). three boilers, triple expansion engine of 524 nhp, single shaft. passage boston, mass, for liverpool. struck west platters in sw force 4 in dense fog, slipped off rocks and sank close by. crew recovered. wk sold in situ for ΓΊ115, july 1897. (sibi). reported that wk can still be seen by divers lying in about 35ft of water. (shipwrecks of n wales).
