Cause: after arriving two months overdue at falmouth following a voyage from tacoma, was ordered to proceed to hull. went aground on northern side of sharks fin rock after tacking across the channel in adverse wind conditions. vessel was built in 1886 by t. royden & sons, liverpool. (cornish shipwrecks, south coast & shipwreck index of the british isles).
