Cause: built in 1926 by cammel laird. owned at time of loss by blue star line. turbine engines for 16 knots. passage liverpool for the river plate. torpedoed by u 96. all on board, 1934 passengers and 166 crew were lost. (ll ww2, dods, & axis submarine successes).
