Cause: vessel, ex-rose, built 1867, ran aground 1m n of muck island, whilst on her regular route between ayr & belfast with general cargo & 1 passenger. owned at time of loss by ayr shipping co. (shipwrecks of the ulster coast & p steele)

PART OF WK CAN BE SEEN LYING ON THE SHORE ABOVE MHW. NO SCOUR. SEABED ROCK & KELP. CAN BE DIVED AT ANY STATE OF TIDE. (P STEELE, 22.5.97) PLOTS CLOSE INSHORE INSIDE DANGER LINE IN AREA OF UNDERWATER ROCKS. NCA. 5.8.03 WGD POSN SUPPLIED BY GEODESY: 5451.153N, 0544.296W. NCA.
