Cause: built in 1910 by workman, clarke ltd, belfast. owned at time of loss by alfred holt & co. triple expansion engines of 641hp, twin screw. passage hong kong for glasgow. general cargo including raw rubber, canvas sandals, boots. attacked by german aircraft and sank two days later.

OIL COVERED SEVERAL SQUARE MILES. (SO, EG5, 23.7.44). INS AS NDW. - FNM 1702/44. SONAR CONTACT IN 502000N, 021400W, APPROX. (AUBD 304/127). 15.2.45 GOOD SONAR CONTACT IN 501936N, 021342W. ACCURATE POSN. (EG 17, 15.2.45). H2985/44 10.2.60 TWO UNEXPLODED DEPTH CHARGES HAVE BEEN DROPPED ON WK IN 501930N, 021300W. THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS ARE IN FORCE:- A) SUBMARINES ARE NOT TO DIVE WITHIN TWO MILES OF THIS POSN, B) THE USE OF THIS WK AS AN A/S WEAPON TARGET IS TO BE DISCONTINUED. (C IN C PORTSMOUTH, 2.9.52). H2291/64 18.5.65 LOCATED IN 501927N, 021340W [OGB] USING DECCA. LEAST E/S DEPTH 145 IN GEN DEPTH 171FT. NO SCOUR. STRONGEST SONAR RETURNS FROM SW BUT ALSO FIRM FROM NE. (HMS SCOTT, 7.5.64). H7800/68 18.12.69 DESPITE RESTRICTION B) OF 2.9.52, FOST REPORTS WK HAS BEEN DEMOLISHED AND NO LONGER PROVIDES A GOOD SONAR CONTACT AT WHICH TO AIM. (FOST, 8.12.69). 7.3.73 INS AS WK 44MTRS. (AUTHORITY NOT KNOWN). NC 2519. 4.10.83 DIVED ON IN GEN DEPTH 54MTRS IN MAY 1983. LYING BADLY DAMAGED, DUE USE AS A TARGET, ON HEADING 215 DEGS. SUPERSTRUCTURE FLATTENED AND A GREAT DEAL OF EXPLOSIVES, OF VARIOUS TYPES, LIE IN VICINITY. LENGTH ABOUT 280FT, BEAM ABOUT 60FT. APPROX 3000 GRT. MUCH SILTED OVER WITH RUBBLE AND WRECKAGE. BR STD.POSITIONS BELOW THIS POINT ARE IN DEGREES, MINUTES AND DECIMALS OF A MINUTE HH100/351/17 2.10.01 DIVED 8.00 IN LISTED POSN. IDENTITY BASED ON CARGO OF RAW RUBBER AND CANVAS SANDALS ETC. THE REMAINS OF THE SANDALS (RUBBER SOLES) CAN BE SEEN IN GREAT QUANTITIES ON THE WK. A FOUR CYLINDER ENGINE LIES ON ITS SIDE AND THERE ARE THREE BOILERS, ONE UPTURNED. (N R CHIPCHASE). NCA.
