As the name "The Residence" and the colors of the Club Wimpel already indicate, the association finds its origin in The Hague. Founded in 1952 and therefore the oldest water sports club in the Hague region. Around two hundred members and donors use the various options that the club has to offer. In Rijsenhout, close to Aalsmeer on the Ringvaart and the Westeinderplassen, there is a marina "De Stormvogel". Most members have the boat here in the summer. With a rowing boat you can sail over the Ringvaart yourself or you will be transferred with your own ferry. A number of (small) boats can be parked in the shed in the winter. In the summer the shed is used for larger activities such as festive evenings and member meetings. There are 150 berths on "De Stormvogel". Some to scaffolding, others on a grass strip. There is a canteen with a spacious sunny terrace that offers cosiness to visitors, a workshop, sanitary facilities with washing and drying machine, the living space and the office of the (monthly changing) harbor master. In the playground, the little ones can enjoy themselves. Your pet is welcome on "De Stormvogel", if on a leash. For groceries you can go to Rijsenhout or Aalsmeer with a loan bike but also with your own (side) boat. Moving places are at the shops in Rijsenhout and in Aalsmeer is a harbor in the center. Sailing in the Groene Hart or on the road to or from Amsterdam, "De Stormvogel" is a nice location to stay overnight. Passers -by are therefore very welcome! Self -engagement of the members invests a lot in both ports, so that the costs remain affordable. The members perform work engines a number of times a year or are committed to the association in other ways.
