The Lingehaven is described by many visitors as the surprise in the fortress. Whoever the port inland shipping via the narrow Lingesluis knows why. The passers -by port runs through the old, picturesque city center: from the lock to the Korenbrug. This makes the port on the one hand accessible from the Merwede and on the other from the Linge, the Merwedekanaal and the Kanaal van Steenenhoek.
