Workum is connected to the IJsselmeer via a lock and a two -kilometer waterway. Workum is increasingly visited by water recreational users. Not in the last place thanks to the sailing connection with the fluesses in 2007 to 1.90 meters. The sailing connection with Bolsward, the Warkumer Trekfeart, is also a busy route.
