This marina has a Blue Flag
The Blue Flag is an international environmental award, awarded annually to beaches and marinas that have proven to be clean and safe. The marinas must meet the following criteria:
• Water and quays are clean
• Good hygienic sanitary facilities are sufficiently available
• There is a separate waste collection system, preferably also for bilge water and waste water< br>• Discharges of waste water from boats and port facilities into the water of the port are prohibited
• Rescue and extinguishing materials are available
• There are port regulations with codes of conduct for visitors
• There is information about how to deal with nature and the environment available

In the Netherlands, Blue Flag certified marinas may be eligible for an additional award: the Green Pennant. A marina earns this pennant if, on top of the international criteria, it has made extra efforts in the field of corporate social responsibility and sustainability of the marina.

Middelharnis marina The marina of Middelharnis is located in the unique sailing area Haringvliet. The Haringvliet is located between the South Holland islands of Voorne-Putten and Goeree-Overflakkee and has traditionally formed the most important drain of river water of the Rhine, the Maas and the Waal. After the closure of the sea arms by flood defenses, the Haringvliet has developed into a unique water sports area. The Middelharnis marina has 110 berths and has been allowed to feed the blue flag since 2009. Sanitary facilities can be found on both sides of the water in the port. Electricity connections are available at berths for passers -by, the use of which is free. The use of the drinking water taps is also free just like the WiFi. Passers-by can take the port in and out and then take a seat on our groceries jetty [in the front of the bowl]. Havendeld is due in other places without the harbor master's permission
